Hair Fixes

If you're ever at a loss as to how to fix those bad hair days, here are some great tips from James Burns, Master Stylist at L'image Salon and Day Spa in Plano.

FRIZZ: when you are away from home -use hand lotion to smooth on their locks. It is an instant -- defrizz!

SPLIT ENDS: to conceal frayed ends, fire up your curling iron. Soft spirals keep ends out of sight, while the ironing action smoothes. Product RX. Silicone serum -- Although nothing "unsplits" ends, a silicone-based product will temporarily slick down cuticle shingles.

STATIC: use a common dryer sheet to help smooth any static electricity in the hairSUN-FRIED STRANDS: Quick fix: The slick ponytail -- Slicking hair back into a low ponytail creates a smooth surface that reflects light, making dry, frizzy locks look healthy. For the sleekest effect, apply a nickel-size amount of styling cream before pulling back. Product RX: Vitamin C-packed conditioner -- To turn brittle hair into silk, look for an after-sun conditioner that contains vitamin C.

ROOTS: Quick fix: Zigzag part. A Z-shaped part instantly minimizes the contrast between natural color and your faux shade by blurring the line. Product RX: Touch up kits

OILY HAIR: Quick fix: Baby powder sprinkled on the scalp

FAIL-SAFE QUICK FIX FOR BAD HAIR DAYS: when nothing seems to work for the hair, simply twist it up into an elegant french twist. It's the one quick fix that no bad hair can resist!
