Full forehead, long chin - Add volume below the chin to balance things out a bit. A medium-length bob or a thick, layered cut adds fullness where it's needed. Bangs or some short pieces around the face can be swept over the forehead to reduce the look of fullness. Long faces - Short layers around the face add fullness to the sides, which balances the proportion of the face. Long, side-swept fringe adds interest to the eyes and can break up the length of the forehead. The key is to not add volume on top, which elongates the face. Keeping the cut above the shoulders adds a fuller effect to the face, balancing the length of the face. Large features - Your large nose or full cheeks can easily seem less prominent by adding a little volume to your hair through a layered cut and/or full bangs which draw attention away from those features. Oval-shaped face – With this face shape, most any style looks good on you! “Emphasize the areas you like and downplay the features you don’t by adding layers and movement,” said James Burns, master stylist at L’image Plano. “Draw the eye toward your best feature with a cut that accentuates the right areas. Keep the length of the hair in proportion to your face shape - the viewing eye will travel where the ends of the hair are pointing so use that knowledge to your advantage.” Keep in mind that the latest, trendiest cut may not be best for your face shape and has the potential to add a weightier look to your face. Work with your stylist to choose a hairstyle that works with your body and face shape, as well as lifestyle.
