Planning Ahead Key To Bridal BeautyTen Tips for Great Bridal Hair Planning Ahead Key to Bridal Beauty L'Image Chosen as One of Top Ten Day Spas by Bride's Magazine ![]() Planning Ahead Key To Bridal Beauty Wedding bells ring year-round at L’Image Salons and Spas as brides-to-be say “I do” to pampering and beauty advice from the expert staff at L’Image. L’Image Salons has been helping brides-to-be and their bridal parties look their wedding day best for over 26 years. The key is planning ahead. The No. 1 tip is plan, plan, plan. The last thing a bride needs on her wedding day is more stress, and by scheduling consultations to work out all the details ahead of time, your day will go a lot smoother. Six months before the wedding, the bride should meet with her stylist to discuss the look she wants to achieve. Bring along your headpiece and a picture of the dress if possible. The more information your stylist has, the better he or she will be able to create the perfect look. This is the perfect time to think about more than hair. Have a series of facials beginning six months before the wedding to ensure that your skin will have a healthy glow on the big day. Six months out is also a good time to schedule appointments for French manicures, facials and other beauty and spa treatments that you will need a few days before or the day of the wedding. Salons tend to get booked-up very quickly, so it’s best to schedule appointments several months in advance. When selecting a hairstyle, brides should consider the time of day and type of wedding they’re having. We recommend looser styles for informal or daytime weddings and updos for more formal evening weddings. It’s also important to remember that some styles can add inches to a bride’s height--which shorter brides may want to use to their advantage, and taller brides may want to shy away from. You also need to think about the accessories that you want to wear that day as well. Brides should consult with their stylist to select hair accessories that will complement their dress and bridal hairstyle. Most importantly, the bride should schedule a “dress rehearsal” appointment a week or so before her portrait session. The portrait session should never be used as the test-run for your bridal hairstyle. It’s essential to work out the kinks of your bridal hairstyle before your portrait and especially before the wedding. That’s why at L’Image we offer a Bridal Hairstyle Consultation package that includes a consultation and hairstyling session, portrait-styling session with veil and day-of-the wedding styling. The test-run session is also a good time to make sure the style you’ve chosen is comfortable. A good rule to remember is the simpler the better. Too many pins can hurt, and elaborate styles may not keep their shape by the end of the night. A bride with chemically treated or colored hair needs to put some extra planning into her bridal hairstyle. A bride should never have any chemical treatments on the day of her wedding. Even the most experienced hairdressers can make mistakes but by having permanents, coloring and other chemical treatments done well before the wedding, you’re giving yourself an insurance policy in case something goes wrong. Hair color looks its best during its first two weeks, so hair should be colored a week to two weeks before the wedding. We also suggest that perms be done a month before the wedding so that there’s enough time for the curl to relax and be at its most manageable. To ensure the best results on your wedding day. Brides should shampoo their hair lightly the day before the wedding. Very clean, overconditioned hair can be too fine, making it tough to style. Washing your hair the day before the wedding will help eliminate this problem. Deep conditioning treatments should not be used up to four days before the ceremony, because they also make hair too fine and more difficult to style. Finally, when planning your wedding day schedule, we suggest that the bride have her wedding party meet at the salon a couple of hours before they need to be at the ceremony for pictures. Stylists and makeup artists usually do their best work in their own environments with their own tools and equipment. Having everyone come to the salon will not only ensure that the stylists do their best work, but also that everyone makes it to the ceremony on time! Having the wedding party come to the salon also tends to cost less than having the stylist work on location. The bride and groom may also want to schedule a complete day of beauty and spa treatments the day of the wedding. L’Image offers complete wedding day packages that include relaxing Aromatherapy massages, manicures and pedicures, mini-facials and hairstyling for the bride and groom. If you’re short on time, we suggest selecting only a few services to make you feel your best. French manicures are often popular choices with brides, while grooms often enjoy wedding day facials. Many brides are opting to treat their entire wedding party to spa and beauty treatments the day of the wedding. It’s a great way for everyone to relax before the ceremony, and for the bride to show her appreciation. With the proper advance planning, all brides can get that special look they want. Looking beautiful on your wedding day doesn’t have to be stressful. ![]() |
